Fraser Island Day 2

We all had a pretty late night but all managed to get up and away just a little late and had another great day seeing a lot more of this great island. Started off driving through the rainforest to “Lake Allem” where we swam in this little lake filled with these little turtles. Then we were off to “Eli creek” where there was this spring water creek we went down in tubes and after I played cricket for the first time on the beach. Then we were off to this shipwreck washed up on the beach named “ Maheno” which had been washed up on the shore some 76 years ago, which is slowly sinking into the sand and will be gone in about 20 years they say! Next stop was the “Champaign Pools”, which was a couple little sea water pools on the other side of some rocks separated from the sea. Because we were there in the “off season” we pretty much had all of these places to our selfs, so it was pretty special to be able to take a picture of the pools with absolutely no people standing around. The last stop off the day was “Indian Head”, right on the north end of the Island with amazing views of the island. The humpback whales had just started migrating up the coast and we seen a couple whales and some dolphins! Great end to an awesome day!!! We drove back to the campsite and had a pretty chilled night.
