Also in Wyndham there is a crocodile farm where we wanted to check out so after waking up to a great view of the five rivers we went down to the croc farm and watched the daily feeding which was very cool. Lots of big crocs splashing and jumping around trying to get there piece of meat! Afterwards we were told to go to “The Grotto” which was an absolutely amazing gorge with a waterfall and rope swing! The croc guy said there was no crocs in there but right after seeing all those giant crocs jumping into that water took a few minutes to build up the confidence. But once we were in it was so worth it, it was great! We spent about a hour there and hit the road again. and all the electronic road signs said everything was open to Broome. After a whole lot of driving again we made it to halls creek where we had a great pizza for dinner, the owner of the place told us the highway to Broome was closed with 2 meters of water flowing over it and said we should stay there for the night. Thinking she was gonna ask for money to stay there, she didn’t and told us we could take showers too!!! Much needed showers indeed! Later we called the highway people and ask if what we were told was correct, the lady on the phone said it was open so we just stayed the night anyway.
