Well this morning at 6:30 we were awoken by a not so friendly ranger who said if we weren’t gone in five minutes he was gonna put a boot on our tire!!! So needless to say we were pretty speedy getting out of there! We thought we would legally camp for our last night so we went to Jurien Bay caravan park, right across from probably the nicest beach of our road trip. I had a very nice last day on the beach getting a sun burn on my upper thighs, hahaha!!!(Mom will like that!!!) We probably had the best potatoes and onions yet of all the times we made them so it was a great meal for the last dinner.

R.T Day 24 - MY B-DAY!!! / Kalbarri Nat Park to Port Denison
We were awoken at six by a nice ranger who told us we can not camp there so we packed it up and drove to lookout point. I got to watch a beautiful sunrise for my birthday ad about a “Million Fly’s”!!! We drove to the super mart to get something “special” for breakfast and got some iced coffee, fresh whole grain bread, salami and cheese!!! “Special” hahaha! It was really good though. Kalbarri is supposed to have a daily pelican feeding which we attended but for two days in a row the nice gentleman who does the feeding, Len, said the pelicans have not come cause the river is flooded and they have too much food in the river. We headed in to the Kalbarri National Park, which was about 30 km’s on our first unsealed road with our van. The lady at the visitors center said it is 10c hotter in the park than the town and todays forecast was 38c!!!We went to the Z-bend first which was a nice lookout and a very very cool 2km return trail down the side of the gorge to the Muchinson??? river. Today I just put on a hat, fly net, long shirt and pants to avoid the “millions” of fly’s! They were so nuts, I never have seen anything like it! After our awesome sweaty hike we drove to “Natures Window” which was really nice and we got some great pictures. After the parks and about 3 liters of water each we continued our journey south and drove again during the night to Port Denison. We didn’t see any “no camping” signs so we just pulled up in a parking lot next to the ocean, each had a beer and relaxed for an hour or so. Pretty great birthday if I say so myself!

R.T Day 23 - Monkey Mia to Kalbarri
We stayed in Shark Bay until the afternoon cause we were having such great weather, again!!! A couple hours on the beach and pool, then we were on our way to Kalbarri and the National Park. There were two lookouts we just made it to before the sun went down “Hawks Head” and “Ross Graham” lookouts. Well if I thought I had seen the fly’s in the OZ, I was wrong! We were just absolutely attacked by the thousands of fly’s and sandfly’s, ones that “bite”!!! So we ran to and from these lookout as fast as we could take pictures of them! We made it there about 8:30, so much for not driving a night anymore, eh! We found a spot right by the ocean with no “No Camping” sign, and free camped with the plan to wake up at six and get a early start.

R.T Day 22 - Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort Day 2
With an expected top temp of 39c today so I thought I would stay out of the sun for half the day. It gave me a good chance to charge my laptop and update my blog. Lenny went to go book the tennis court for the evening and then down to the beach cause he has just over a week left to burn a tan into his body! Later on I did go in the sun for a walk down the beach and chilled out in there awesome pool where the water was the coldest of any pool I’ve ever been in! We played tennis afterwards and I smoked him for the second time. Back into the pool for a cool down and back to the monkey bar for another burger cause they were so good the day before and didn’t disappoint today either!

R.T Day 21 - Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort / Camel Man!!!
The dolphin feeding in Monkey Mia is the main reason people go there I think? and we did see all three feedings. The first one with about 200 people, the second with about 70 people and the third with about 20. During the last feeding I wandered over to the camel rides were I stood there in awe as this guy was yelling at these Asian’s who had payed $35 dollars for a half hour ride! to “shut up” and “start speaking english” as they were speaking chinese and trying to take pictures while he was trying to get them on the camels, then some of them were scared of the camels and would get on then get off and start laughing then the guy would start yelling at them “you get of the camel again and you can stay off”. Mean while I’m in stitches and am trying to wave Lenny over from the dolphin feeding to come and see this cause he would have never believed me! He did come over about halfway through the fiasco and we had a pretty good laugh about it then and then the whole day after. One of the girls never did go for her ride cause she was too scared of either the camels or the operator! I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears and during the whole thing I didn’t even take a picture or better yet a video for You Tube. Never ever have I seen paying customers treated that way and I probably never will. During the day on the beach the dolphins would come and swim around all the people swimming so that was pretty cool and we even had one of the swim about 1 meter away from us chasing a little fish up on to the beach. My darn camera was on the wrong setting so the color in the picture I took with the dolphin swimming right past Lenny was all crappy! We had a great day in the sun on the beach, by the pool and the +36c weather. The Monkey Bar served really great views, good burgers and cold beer so how could we resist!

R.T Day 20 - Denham / Little Lagoon
Our neighbors told us they were going to the “Little Lagoon” to fish and hang out and said we should try to spear fish there because they seen some yesterday. We headed over to this “Little Paradise” for the afternoon, which was a little river coming in from the ocean to this lagoon about 500 meters inland. This place was absolutely beautiful and it really did feel like paradise, but still no fish on the end of my spear! We spent most the day there then went back to town for the evening and had to wake up early the next morning to make it to Monkey Mia for the dolphin feeding!

R.T Day 19 - Coral Bay to Denham
We arrived in the long awaited Denham, in Shark Bay where in the caravan book said the park was right beside the ocean, which it was! We got the greatest spot in a caravan park yo could ask for, right in front of the beach on the ocean with a great breeze to keep the fly’s and mozzies away. We thought we would try and eat fish for dinner so we made some spears in the afternoon by attaching our knives to some sticks we found. But the same breeze that kept the bugs away was keeping the fish away too I guess, yumyum, more pasta for dinner!!! We went out on the town for a couple of beers, one beer in the one bar and one beer in the other bar! Not much going on there on a Saturday night.
